PCI-E NIC suggestions

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of putting together parts for my first unraid build.

I picked up a MSI A75MA-G55 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130605 with a AMD A4-3300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103957 for $69 (after rebate), but this motherboard has a Realtek RTL8111E NIC.

Does anyone have suggestions on a inexpensive (aka CHEAP) PCI-E nic that will work with unraid?

Should I even attempt to get unraid up and running with the built in NIC?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestionss

Thanks for the help Johnm.

I'm gonna give the latest beta build a shot.

Why don't you use the PCI slot instead? The PCI-e slot would be faster for another SATA port card.

Go with an intel card too if the beta doesn't go as you want.

Good point Josh, my first train of thought was to keep the pci slot open for future expansion since my motherboard only has one pci slot.

Saving the PCI-e Slots open for future expansion would be my better option.

Thanks again.
