April 10, 20242 yr I upgraded my Unraidserver to a I5 14500 and BIOSTAR B760MX2-E PRO D4 with 64GB of RAM. When I install a SATA device in one of the bottom SATA slots of the Motherboard it is recognicced by Unraid and can be added to the array. But when my Plex Instance starts to use hw decode the Sata drive gives errors and is removed from the array. I have a LSI card left over from my previous build. When I attach my drive there, Plex runs with no Problem and the Drive stays in the array. I looked up the system devices and the Issue seems to be this Controller: [1b21:1064] 02:00.0 SATA controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1064 Serial ATA Controller (rev 02). Does any one have some troubleshooting Ideas or a Tip for me?
April 10, 20242 yr Community Expert I assume it's the same with all 4 ports for that controller? If yes look more like a board issue.
April 10, 20242 yr Author Yes, it's the same for all 4 ports of that controler. What intrigues me is that it only fails when the igpu is stressed.

April 11, 20242 yr Author Solution After a lot of troubleshooting i found the Solution: The Issue was the powertop setting auto tune. I set my server up to run this script at start up, but the second non Intel SATA Controler does not work with Powertop. The solution was this Powereffivciency thread: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/98070-reduce-power-consumption-with-powertop/ I used the advanced script and didn't acticvate Powertop for ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1064 for me devices 9,10,11,12. If someone needs a more detailed explanation just write me.
