[SOLD OUT] G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 - $25 shipped

Featured Replies

It was too hard to pass up at that price. Even if it doesn't work in my unRAID I'll make good use of it for something else.

Does anyone have experience trying this RAM or other, similar GSkill on a SuperMicro X8SIL-F-O?

Supermicro boards at large are very picky about the RAM they use.  You'll need to check SuperMicro and G.Skill's tested memory lists to see if this RAM will work for that board.  If it isn't on either list, then I wouldn't try it.

Appreciate this, HTPC and Unraid will be upgraded by Friday now.  I wasn't going to fuss about my HTPC as it ran fine, though with 4GB more than it has now.. shoot, looking forward to the shipment.

8GB in the Unraid may sound like overkill also (more so perhaps especially since I don't use Sab or any of that on the server), but.. $25 pfft.  Yeah, appreciate this one Raj.

8 GB isn't overkill if you use Cache_dirs (an excellent script by Joe L.).  The more RAM the better!
