CPU pinning

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering whats best practice in my case?

I have a Ubuntu VM with 2 Rust game server (one big vanilla, no decay and a small build server for friends and loyal players)

On docker i run a plex media server for a few friends and familly, a torrent server thats mostely off and a twingate connector for remote acces.

For the rest i just use it to back up my home pc's

i noticed after making some tweek i still have a little stutter on my Rust servers thats wy im trying to optimize the server to its max potential but sadly my technical know how only goes so far.

and CPU pinning is that one bridge to far :)

So i wonder how i can best set them up?

Also how do i find out what are Cores/Threads and whats the difference?

I added the a example from my current cpu but i have a 11600k on the way so i can use the igpu for plex

Did you get this figured out, It looks like you pinned ALL your cores to the VM... But haven't isolated any of them... My understanding is that you should have assigned SOME of your cores to the VM and then isolated the same ones so that the other tools can't use them.
