rasi Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi guys, I'm an unraid virgin so I would really appreciate any help I can get. I installed the latest unraid version 5.0b14 this morning. Then installed Sabnzbd, Sickbeard, Couchpotato -- the works. Towards the end of the installation, I accidentally unplugged my server resulting in a power failure. When power was restored, unraid booted up and started rebuilding parity. However, the unraid main server screen is stuck at "Starting..." and never shows me anything else. Similarly, I cannot edit the user shares from the WebGUI since that page tells me that I have to wait until the array is started for the shares to be accessible. Nevertheless, I know all my shares are properly mounted and functional since I am able to access them from all of the remote computers on my network. Sabnzbd, Couchpotato and Sickbeard are utilizing the shares without any problem, but I am now unable to add any more shares. While the parity was being rebuilt after the power failure, the only way I could see this is through the unMENU webgui. Even now, the main unraid screen shows "Starting...." but the unMENU screen shows that the parity is valid and that all shares are operational. Does anyone know a workaround this? Would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer. Rasi

Did you put a delay into place before starting your add-ons? (typically one that waits for the array to come online before starting the add-ons) If not, your array may not ever start until you disable your add-ons. Joe L.
prostuff1 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I am going to assume that you are using the .plg install type for unRAID 5.0b11+ If so, disable them and reboot again. Wait for everything to come up, complete the parity check, then renable the plugins. If you are not using the .plg install and instead my unMenu packages then post in those threads with the information I ask for in the first post of those threads.
rasi Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 Than you so much, Prostuff1 and everyone else... That did the trick. The parity had already completed rebuilding, but unraid was still showing that the shares were inactive. It clearly was a problem with the plugins continuing to be active preventing unraid from registering that the array has been started. I found that Sabnzbd refused to be shutdown from the plugin menu. I had to use its own webgui to shut it down. But after all three plugins were shutdown, I did a safe powerdown using the unmenu powerdown script and restarted the server and everything is working beautifully.. Thank you so much for your advice!!
