New unRAID user with a question

Featured Replies

I just setup my unraid, and I am amazed at how easy the whole process was, good Job to Tom and all involved in getting unRAID to what it is today, quite possibly the best scalable data protection system on the market.

I have a ASUS P5B-VM DO with gigabit nic onboard, I've found a few posts pre-2.43 saying to get a Intel pci-e nic, or wait for 2.43 to be able to get gigabit connection from it. well I've spend far too much cash on my gamer, htpc and this server over that last 2 weeks, so I'd like to cut the corner and get the 1000 speed working on the onboard lan and could really use some help.

My router is a trendnet, which has green light for 10/100, and orange for 1000, my gamer with a DFI lanparty UT nf590 SLI, shows up as connected orange. My unRAID shows green, now when my unraid is booting the connection light goes orange almost all the way to the login, then goes back to green. And when it is rebooting, it goes orange again and I see a message along the lines of "eth0 watchdog, 1000mb enabled full duplex", the light stays orange all the way till it gets back to the login, then goes green.

I'm currently getting about 11 MB/sec from desktop (Vista ultimate, SP1) to unRAID or vise versa

Thanks in advance,

I have the same board and have always had a Gigabit connection to it from my switch. Once I had only 100mbit, but the ethernet connector wasn't properly seated.

Psuedo fix, after digging around I noticed it was going green (10/100) at the DHCP point, so I gave it a static internal address and poof, its solid orange at e1000, getting about 23MB/s which I've read about what it should be now =)

Thanks all
