Scanning UnRaid drives with Media Center Master...

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have MCM on my Win Server, I have my movies on my UNRaid Server. The UNRaid is mapped in my Win Server, and every time I try to use run a scan it just freezes. I tried dropping the folders into MCM and it still does the same thing. Does anyone who uses MCM have any ideas? I have asked this question on the MCM forum and Pete, the creator of the program told me he didn't have UNRaid to test it against, and hoped someone that did would chime in, so I'm hoping I could get some answers here, and post them back there so he could make any tweaks to the program if need be.

I've used it on user shares many times without any problem. I haven't used mapped network drives though.

I haven't had any problems scanning with MCM and unRAID 5.0 beta12a. Though I have it using "\\Tower\Movies\" and not via a mapped local Windows Drive (like M:).

Ive used it with a mapped drive just fine. Running Unraid 4.7 and Windows 7 x64.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure why I am still having problems Pete can't help me cause he doesn't have UNRaid. Could it be the fact that I am using Remote Desktop? But then again Pete says he remotes into his Windows server without a problem. Likewise I remote into my 2008 Server without a hitch and when I try to run MCM via the Remote session it either freezes or takes forever. I only have 409 movies. I am running UNRaid 4.7....

Any thoughts or ideas? I am going to try to try using \\tower\movies instead of mapping and see if there is any difference.

I had a very similar problem but it got solved when removing in Media Center Mast the “inspect and record video file details” feature as Media Center Master got stuck on some files in the scanning process un my unRAID server.  I did not use to have this problem until recently and it might be a default feature that got recently introduced in Media Center Master.  I hope this helps!

I have it running now, also using \\tower\movies and unraid 5.0 b14.

No issues..it seems to run very well.
