2 system crashes in 9 days

Featured Replies

Hi!
my system stopped/crashed twice in the last 9 days.

can't reach webgui, can't ssh the system.

after pushing (not pressing for a longer time) the system shut down completely.

after new boot parity checks starts...

didn't notice anything before the system stop...

diagnostics attached!

Syslog in the diags starts over after every boot, enable the syslog server and post that if it happens again, but if I understand correctly the server did shutdown on its own after a quick button press? That you mean it wasn't completely crashed.

yes, the shutdown of the complete machine shuts down immediately when i do a quick button press.

edit: while looking for the syslog server i landed in the "normal" syslog, where this error appears pretty often:

Apr 22 20:33:06 DataTower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.2: AER: Corrected error received: 0000:00:01.0
Apr 22 20:33:06 DataTower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.2: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, (Receiver ID)
Apr 22 20:33:06 DataTower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.2: device [1022:15d3] error status/mask=00000040/00006000
Apr 22 20:33:06 DataTower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.2: [ 6] BadTLP

You can post the persistent sylog, but if the server is powering off by itself, that will usually be a hardware issue.

The settings you have in the above screenshot mean the syslog server is only listening for messages from other servers.   As mentioned in the syslog server link to get your server to record its own entries you need to set either the Mirror to Flash option OR the Remote Syslog server field to the address of your Unraid server.
