wills
I have one each of these systems, and I'd like to switch one into an Unraid server to primarily host VMs. The only massive difference between motherboards is the AMD can do max 64GB of RAM and the Intel 192GB, but I currently only have 32GB on both. Are there compatibility issues with either of them that should lean me towards one or the other? The 5900X has 12 cores, 24 threads, but all cores are the same type. The 13900K has 24 cores, but only 8 P-cores, with the rest being E-cores. Does Unraid allow the use of E-cores like normal for pinning and such for VMs, or do some of them have to be bundled with P-cores if that makes sense. Any insights would be great. peterg23
If electricity costs are important to you then go with the 5900x for your Unraid server. The Intel 13900K is generally known to be much more power hungry. https://beebom.com/intel-core-i9-13900k-review/ Quote Link to comment
