ubuntuaddicted Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 OMG, $37 dollars for RAM? I am litterally flat broke but $37 I can find by recylcing the mess of copper in my backyard and aluminum. I have not purchased hardware since the day the Core2Duo came out. Yes, long ago!!! SO I am still on DDRII. I might just pull the trigger on this despite NOT being able to use it, JUST YET. Who can vouche for Centon from a quality perspective? Thanks for any feedback.
Rajahal Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 Centon is definitely a budget brand (non-ECC), so don't use it with high end server hardware (Supermicro, etc.). If you are aiming for a budget build with a standard consumer motherboard (Biostar, Asus, etc.) it works fine. Memtest for 24+ hours is always recommended with any new RAM.
