littlebudha
I have a unraid system with 14 drives plus 2 parity drive and cache drive. Parity drives are 8TB drives. data drives are mix of 4-8 TB drives. I now have a dual drive failure. My 6 and 8 TB Data drives failed. I purchased 3 16 TB Drives and wanted to replace the 8 TB parity drives with the 16 TB parity drives and shrink the array by removing the 2 malfunctioning drive with 1 16TB drive. I do not have any other spare drives available. Whats my best option? What are my steps: - use unbalance and move data off the malfunctioning drives? will that work? - replace the malfunctioning drives with 16TB drives and keep 8 TB parity until the drive gets rebuilt?
