USB Died - Backup of old Array config - New config has new parity disk

Featured Replies

Hello forum people!

I'm hoping one of you lovely people can give me some advice or insight.

So my USB died the beginning of the week - I restored to a backup, only to realise the backup was taken before I added two new drives to my array and swapped out the parity drive.

I had four 6TB drives setup - 3 data and 1 for Parity.

I added 2 new 8TB drives last month sometime - which necessitated me swapping out the parity drive.

Now I've restored to the backup before the changes took place and it wants to use the original parity -

So I'm not sure how I should proceed?

I can't assign the 8TB to parity as its telling me it will wipe it.

Any help or advice gratefully received.

Thank you!
