6.12.8 - Server crashes, I can ping but no ssh or webui

Featured Replies

I keep having issues with one of my Unraid servers that crashes and all docker, vms, shares etc go offline.  I cannot access the remote server via ssh or webui but ping works ok.  This has happended several times and I am trying to diagnose the problem but looking at the log files dont look to give me any pointers.

My only solution is to power cycle and then it is active again for days/weeks till next time.  Initially thought to be power related but its on a UPS now and it still occurs.

Has anybody had a similar issue and pointers for resolution much appreciated?

cheers

If there's nothing relevant logged in the logs it could be a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.

I believe this was due to corrupted data on the unraid boot usb stick.  I put the usb into a windows machine and fixed the data issues it said it found.  After this Unraid seems to have settled down and working again.  Fingers crossed anyway. issue
