HBA is showing in system devices but doesn't seem to initate and SAS HDDs don't show in bios or unraid

Featured Replies

I've included diagnostics so hopefully that can shed some light if one of you is kind enough to help me :)

Asrock N100DC-ITX motherboard

LSI HBA

3x SAS 12k drives

I tested the setup before putting it into the case and it worked fine, but now it seems it's not working.

p.s. i'm sure when it worked before it had some initialisation text like 'avago etc and press ctrl+c for something' but that no longer shows.

Thank you :)

is the HBA in IT mode. ???

Yes - then each disk will be seen in unraid via terminal blkid

No- then it is not in IT mode, and you must ref lash the LSI HBA into IT Mode
or
use hardware raid ctrl + c at boot? To open hba menu to setup hardware raid.

You may have fastboot on as it is a quick access menu at boot. and can require dos to flash firmware...

Your HBA is in IR mode....

What is the difference between IR mode and it mode?

IR mode means that the card is running a firmware that is capable of limited RAID configuration by itself. Usually at least RAID1 is supported. IT mode is a pure HBA without RAID capabilities

The HBA is being correctly detected and the driver is loading, make sure your hear/feel the disks spinning up.

bmartino1 Hello and thank you :)  Yes the HBA is in IT mode, as i've previously had it working fine before the PC was installed into the case.

Fastboot is off.

JorgeB it seems like the disks are not spinning.  Why would this be the case if the HBA is definitely working?  I've checked cables and it seems fine.

See if it's not the 3.3v issue, Google that and should find many hits.
