Viewing large directories - incredibly slow.

Using any of the betas - loading large directories via AFP takes forever.

 

A 171 item folder took ~60/70 seconds to show up when it shows almost instantly (<5 seconds) in OSX/windows via SMB.

 

Note: If I look into this folder, eject the disk and then look at it again it loads much quicker. So a caching issue with AFP!?

 

Edit: If I navigate to say a sub-folder via both SMB and AFP, and then open two separate folders (with identical contents), one via AFP and one via SMB then SMB loads it within a few seconds and AFP takes 10 times longer.
