Restored from flash backup, config is wrong, missing disks etc.

Featured Replies

What started it all is I was testing my server to act as a standalone server while I am deployed out to sea on a ship with no internet connection. I was restarting my VM, and I bound the USB controllers to vfio and I think I accidentally bound the boot flash drive. this started a boot loop which ended in a fatal flash error. I was able to restore from a flash backup that Unraid Connect says is one week old, but there are missing cache drives, two vm pool NVME drives, and the shares are also not correct. I am at a loss on how to restore my config before I leave for deployment in a week. I have automatic flash backup enabled. I have not changed any hardware since the date of the backup.

Diagnostics is a single zip file. Your computer must have automatically unzipped it.

Please attach the single Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread.

For the cache pool:

stop array

unassign the other cache pool device

start array

stop array

re-assign both cache pool devices

start array

That should take care of that one, for the gamevm pool, post the output of

zpool import

root@TowerofAaron:~# zpool import
   pool: gamevm
     id: 14282452412520004784
  state: ONLINE
action: The pool can be imported using its name or numeric identifier.
 config:

        gamevm       ONLINE
          nvme1n1p1  ONLINE
          nvme2n1p1  ONLINE
          nvme0n1p1  ONLINE

Do the same for the other pool:

unassign currently assigned pool devices for that pool

start array

stop array

reassign all 4 pool devices

start array

I was able to get vms started again. You have been awesome! Thank you!

Two replies solved this issue. I marked one and the other is directly above. I also had to re-download the virt-io drivers to get the VM to work. Thanks again JorgeB!
