BlueByte
I have an issue with VM bootup every now and again. I have a script that reboots my servers every couple of days. Maybe once every couple of months it will hang on the boot. If I check the VNC it is the windows circle turning, at that point, I have to do a force shutdown and it boots up fine. If I check the logs there doesn't seem to be anything logged as a hang or crash. It can happen to any of my MS VMs but the one that prompted this post is Server 2022 standard which is a stand-alone install, no domain controllers. I have also had the same issue with Windows 10 installs so it doesn't seem specific to any one VM. Does KVM have more detailed logs somewhere deeper? is it possible to turn on a higher verbose level? Any common issues to look at trying first with this type of problem? The hardware is ASRockRack X570D4U-2L2T AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core @ 3700 MHz 128GB ECC memory Micron_7300 1.9TB + parity No hardware passthrough to the VM, no USB devices, just a VM with VNC.
