Unable to Format 2 Re-purposed Hard Drives

Trying to format two 16TB hard drives that were used previously used in my Synology NAS.  I wiped the drives before removing them from the Synology.  These are attached to a newly installed SAS PCIe card.  Unraid does recognize the new card in System Devicesa and the drives do show up in Unassigned Devices on the GUI.  I am unable to format either drive in XFS format and get an error message of FAILED.  Diagnostics are attached.

    There are constant disk errors for both, try connecting them to the onboard SATA controller instead.
