Not going past boot menu

Featured Replies

Unraid isn't moving past the boot menu. Was able to boot into it once but won't do it again.

What I've tried:

The 4 main options in the boot menu.

Disabling uefi

Setting boot priority

Removing half of the ram

Memetest to test ram stability

Reinstalling unraid on usb

Tried with out both keyboard and mouse

Booted from main pc and unraid worked with out an issue.

Cleared cmos

Checked motherboard settings for things unraid needs(vm support)

Any other ideas? I have the usb with me but haven't been home long enough to see if there are logs on the usb it self of why it wouldn't boot.

Try booting with a different flash drive, or boot that one in a different PC, to confirm where the problem is.

You could also try rewriting the bz* type files as described here in case the system is having trouble loading them off the flash drive.

Attempted to install unraid on the USB again, still won't leave the boot menu. Might also reset the bios and see if that helps. For now, I'm probably going to try memtest pro and check for any faulty ram sticks. Probably will take about 5ish days to complete 5 passes.

I did also try a “chkdsk /f G:” on cmd to confirm the USB is working correctly.

Clearing cmos didn't work. Figured it might of been a setting I did wrong.

I do have all the ram in the system and testing it now. We'll see if any errors show up.

Total ram is 786gb of ram. Think it will take longer to boot unraid the more ram you have? It did for me test, got stuck for a little bit with "gathering spd details".
