bah1976 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 So the WAF is falling... I'm running 4.7 unRaid, currently with 2 disks (4 more pre-cleared - but I want to figure this out before I dive in). I have another machine on my gigabit network running mythtv DVR, which saves all recordings via NFS to the unraid disk share. Playback is fine - I actually have no issues there. However what I do have is a problem with what I would call "seeking". When I skip forward or back through a commercial, there is a noticeable delay waiting for the data to catch up. When I had the recordings local in the DVR, it was instant. Now it takes a few seconds. I don't know if there's anything I can do about it, but I thought I'd post for suggestions. I've got disk read ahead set to 2048 and scheduling at anticipatory, but still the delay is there. Is this a network issue? A mythtv issue? A NFS issue? an inherent NAS issue? What, if anything, can I tweak/fix to make this work like it used to? Thanks all
prostuff1 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 try using SMB? If that fails you are probably not going to be able to "fix" it. On my XBMC machine I have this same delay and I just deal with it... its not that big of an issue for me.
