Server locking up or unresponsive after upgrade

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've been running UnRaid since almost 2010  and have loved the platform ever since building one. I will admit, I've been laxed on really maintaining the UnRaid server other than changing out a bad drive or updating Plex the last few years due to life with kids.

I've decided to recently to update the OS  from 6.6.7 to the only option available on the GUI of 6.12.10. Ever since upgrading to this version, I've been having random lock up issues that would always need a hard restart as it's unresponsive. This would happen a couple times to almost 8 times a day. I've seen where the server would not respond to pings at all and putting a monitor and keyboard on the server does not come up with anything.  Other times, I would still see pings coming back, but no response on the keyboard and seeing nothing on the monitor until I do a hard restart.

I've updated from macvlan to ipvlan with same result

I don't see any c-state setting on this older motherboard.

I've also stopped all dockers, but did not run in safe mode and it still crashed. Might have to try safe mode.

Thank you for any suggestion anyone can provide.

Several call traces logged, one of them has the Unraid driver crashing, that's usually always hardware related, though it could be some incompatibility with the new kernel, start by running memtest in case the upgrade was just a coincidence
