Dimtar Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I have a HP Micro Server currently and it has six drive inside it. Four of the drives are actually part of the array and the other two are just sitting in the box connected to power and sata but not actually part of the raid (not selected in the array) We moved the Micro Server to our new house and on arrival I turned it on. I could hear one of the drives trying to start but not getting anywhere (click of death?) I had a feeling it was one of the drives plugged in but not connected so I removed those two drives and turned the machine back on. The array details were all in tact so I started the array, so far the status of the array is simply "starting" and clicking refresh just displays the same status. The drives in the meantime are all spinning and the read count of each drive is steadily increasing. The whole thing was kind of like it was conducting a parity check yet the gui did not agree. I was looking at this via the iphone, ipad and mac using Safari, Chrome and Firefox and all browsers agreed. Long story short the buttons to reboot etc. simply do not come up at all. After a while the array became available via SMB and works fine. What is my next step here as I will obviously one day need to use one of the buttons and also I want to be able to see if the parity check is actually running or not instead of guessing, I am currently running Beta 13. All help much appreciated, please and thanks.
