Recommend RAM for SuperMicro X8SIL-F-O (KVR1333D3E9SK2/4G is discontinued)

As the title states. I am looking for a RAM recommendation for a SuperMicro X8SIL-F-O. Newegg has discontinued the Kingston KVR1333D3E9SK2/4G.

Whats the difference between unbuffered vs registered as far as unRAID / Mobo w/ i3-540 is concerned? Also, isn't it better to run 2x2Gb rather than 1x 4Gb? Or can you run 1x 4Gb  for now and put it in Slot 0. Then if you need more RAM, buy another stick and put it in Slot 1?
