May 21, 20242 yr Hello Unraid community, Basically the title; I have my unraid OS on an external hard drive right now (basically wasting all the space by formatting it to 32gb) which works, but would it be smarter to just transfer it onto a flash drive instead? I don't exactly need the external hard drive, that's why I used it to hold my unraid OS, but is there another reason I should be using a flash drive? Thanks!
May 23, 20242 yr Since Unraid runs from RAM and the boot device is only used to save settings, I see no reason to use a hard drive. How exactly did you set that up? It's not meant to be done that way.
