December 21, 201114 yr I'm very new to unraid, so please bear with me. I have installed both versions 4.7 and 5.14 on my supermicro X6DHE-XB 3U Storage Server SATA 16GB 64bits 2x 3Ware 9500S-8. When I boot up, I can see my three new hard drives. all 2TB, 1Hitachi, 2 Seagate. Unraid boots up, I see them in the pre script. They also light up as far as the led in the array. However when I open up my Tower window in Firefox, they are color coded grey. When I try to preclear, I'm notified that I can't because they are mounted. When I try to test them I can't. I have re installed unraid several times, several versions. I get the same results. I'm trying to find out what I'm doing wrong.
December 21, 201114 yr Author With this, I cannot initiate or start array, or finish setup of array. I noticed my phoenix bios is 2006. I don't know if this could cause problem.
December 21, 201114 yr are they truly mounted? try going into linux and typing: df this should display all mounted drives you should be able to unmount them using the 'umount' command good luck, steve

They must not be in use, or mounted. Joe L.
