New HDD visible in bios, but not in unraid

Featured Replies

I just got a new WD 8TB HDD to add to my array. I have tried using different cords, different SATA ports, everything I can think of, and I cannot get the HDD to appear as an unassigned device in unraid.

When I boot into bios, I can see it listed as a SATA device (it does say 0GB for the size, not sure if that is relevant)

I am attaching my diagnostics. Please note I also added a WD 4TB SSD, that one shows up correctly. The disk that does not appear correctly is

WDC WD80EAAZ - 00BXBB0 (this is what I see in the bios for it)

Any help greatly appreciated!

A couple other pieces of info, in case they are relevant:

Motherboard: Zenith Extreme Alpha II

The HDD is plugged in directly to the PSU and the motherboard

Looks like a disk problem, it's been known to happen before, a bad disk being detected in the BIOS and then not working, if you already tried multiple controllers that's probably it, but you can try a different PC if available, as a final confirmation.

Thank you @JorgeB I happened to go ahead and order a replacement just in case that was the issue.  Hopefully the next one will work.
