peter_sm Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Is this normal ? I have everything on GB network. To server : about 28MB/sec From server : about 65MB/sec Se some attached images. EDIT I have added : max protocol = SMB2 here is a summary of my internal read/write of my disk -> http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=17077.msg156195#msg156195 //Peter
mcs Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 28MB/s is about right for writting to parity protected green drive. However, it is relatively slow if you are writting to the cache drive.
bubbaQ Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 You do not identify the drive in your workstation.... that will slow you down too. The first step you MUST do, is to create ramdisks on the workstation and unRAID, and do the copy from ramdisk to ramdisk, eliminating disk latency. This step is necessary in order to benchmark the network raw throughput w/o any disk latency. After that, always use a ramdisk on the workstation for testing unRAID throughput, as your workstation drive can have a huge impact on throughput..
darkside40 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I have roughly the same speed, exept my read speed from the server is a little bit higher. Do you use C'n'Q on your server?
