28MB/s is about right for writting to parity protected green drive.

However, it is relatively slow if you are writting to the cache drive.

You do not identify the drive in your workstation.... that will slow you down too.

 

The first step you MUST do, is to create ramdisks on the workstation and unRAID, and do the copy from ramdisk to ramdisk, eliminating disk latency.  This step is necessary in order to benchmark the network raw throughput w/o any disk latency.

 

After that, always use a ramdisk on the workstation for testing unRAID throughput, as your workstation drive can have a huge impact on throughput..
