joelones Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I am having the hardest time trying to figure out why my SuperMicro X8SIL-F-O board boots by itself. When shutting down unRAID from the UI, the computer powers itself off correctly, 5-10 seconds it spontaneously boots itself. At first I thought it was a WOL thing (of which I could not find the option in the Bios), but when I shutdown and pulled the ethernet wire, it still happened. I then thought it was something do to with the USB key plugged into the MB's usb socket, but then I disabled the USB wake jumper and it still happened. The motherboard is at Bios 1.1 version and hardware rev. 1.02. Any suggestions please? Thanks

I seem to recall that there was an option in the UPS control software to restart the computer when the AC power came back on.
joelones Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 No UPS connected but thanks for the reply, it's still baffling me...
Oddwunn Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Has anyone ever found a solution for this problem? My server is acting EXACTLY the same. It has done this since day one, but I was never really concerned, but since I now have it on a UPS, I don't want the server to restart when the Clean Shutdown command is issued by the UPS plugin. Same exact motherboard...
