Unraid - ZFS and zero processor activity

Featured Replies

I can't get anyone a log file, and looking for some direction.  Logged into Unraid, went to update Apps and Dockers, but had blank screens, I went back and forth nothing.  Was able to see Dashboard and Main screen with Disks on it after I signed back in again, but again no Apps or Dockers.  Noticed on dashboard there was zero processor activity, and ZFS showing 100%.  Saw activity on other items.  Decided to try a reboot, but I don't think it ever rebooted.  I was able to shut off the array, showed stopped.  So then tried to power down the server.  Power is still on and screen still on  ZFS still at 100% Processor also the same as I described.  I decided after 20 30 min to press power button once, as there was no change.  Everything is still on.   So not sure what is happening and question I have is should I just hold down the button, knowing that the array was stopped?  Sorry wish I had logs and so forth.  This thing has been a champ for months.  My data disks are xfs, and I don't know much about differences or get into the whats better, or if I should have ZFS, or is that part of the memory- I'm new, so unsure why that shows up on dashboard and guess I never paid attention, but mentioning in case that is some issue as well.

Zfs in Dashboard will always be at 100% it uses all the ram its been assigned. ?May have been a zfs scrub
Its frozen even if the array was running (sometimes you can hear HD sounds) it not ideal but you would want to kill it.

?do you hear the hard drive? Something read/writing to the array/zfs pool

i believe it would be safe to hard shut down the machine based on what you described

It's normal for the ARC usage to be at 100% if there's a zfs filesystem, get the syslog by typing in the CLI:

cp /var/log/syslog /boot/syslog.txt

Then attach it here
