Ok, the title is a bit much.

 

I routinely crash unRAID5.12 by running badblocks -w /dev/sdd -o sddblocks

I am pretty sure it is an out of memory issue, but crashing the server seems like a bad way to handle the problem.  Since the server crashes, I lose logs etc to really know what happened.

 

Of course this only happens with a bad drive, but don't all drives fail eventually...

 

unRAID5.12 virtualized using LSI9240 passthru.
