Help, missing file after move

I have a user-share consisting of disk1 and disk2

I removed disk2 from the share and tried to move a file from disk2 to the user-share which now consisted of disk1 only.

 

Moving the file in windows explorer from disk2 to the same folder on the user-share,

windows asked if I wanted to overwrite the file, I selected ok (both files were same size and create date)

File disappeared

 

I tried stopping and starting the array, rebooting... no luck, the file is gone

what happened? did I screw up?

I'm using 4.2.4 Pro (upgraded from 4.2.3 a couple of weeks ago)

 

I just finished a search of the entire share thinking it might have been put in another dir, no luck there either.
