stroopwafel Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Hello, I've got an odd issue and I wanted to verify I'm not going crazy.. A few weeks ago I got a disk (#3) that got disabled (contents emulated by the parity disk). I've replaced the disk with another disk (new disk succeeded on pre-clear) and all was good. A few days later after replacing the disk, 2 other disk (#2 & #4) are experiencing read errors. I've read online that it can be due bad cables so I replaced those and rebooted the server. After everything was working I shut down the server again and placed it back in its closet. When powering on I see 2 disks missing (the one with errors). After trying a few things like connecting them to the SATA controller instead of the HBA and new cables they are still not visible. A few reboots later and now I'm missing 4 array drives and a cache drive... (including the new replaced drive!) I get multiple disk failure is possible but this can't be a coincidence right? I've tried to connect a failed disk to a back-up Unraid server but this one is also not able to read the disk. Anyone got an idea what's going on before I start doing destructive tasks? tower-diagnostics-20240604-0818.zip Quote
JorgeB Posted June 4 Posted June 4 If you connect the disks to the onboard SATA are they detected in the board BIOS? Quote

I've tried to attach the drives to my Windows pc and it can see the disk but I can not initialise the disk (CRC error). The disks are spinning so something is happening. Quote
