Disk assignement not possible as parity and/or disk

Featured Replies

Hi all,
I've got a new ugreen 2bay NAS, but I'm not able to setup the disks. As you can see in the attached video, I select them as parity and disk and they are selected for a short time, but then they just vanish from the list and are not longer available for anything. It works for the cache, which means my SSDs are assignable, but no hdd is. I've checked all combinations but no way. The smart test was ok, both disks are usable and I'm not sure if it is just a frontend but or something like that. Anyone who has an idea?

Thanks in advance

The drives are making a terrible connection.  Reseat the bays, and give them an extra little push afterwards also

Thanks a lot Squid! That doesn't work unfortunately and I'm just trying to format the disks. Some bad blocks I'll try to repair but can you tell me where I can find the informtion, that the connection is terrible?

Look at the syslog, there are constant ATA errors.

Hi all,
both disks were new and it turns out, that both were corrupt. I've sent them back and got new ones, after installing them everything worked flawlessly. Nevertheless your help was very appreciated!

Cheers
