MortenSchmidt Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I've got a healthy Centurion 590 with 3 4-in-3's for a total of 12 slots at the moment - and it's filling up. I've had a drive hanging vertically from the fan meshes in the top for a while... (which has not caused any problems - it's just that I can only fit one more that way). A Norco 4224 would seem to be the proper way to go - but if I can get away with spending less I'd be all up for that. Are there any good options in external drive cages? I've got a total of 18 SATA ports, 8 of which are from a Supermicro SASLP-MV8 card. I don't mind it being a little ghetto (like SATA expander cables from the SASLP-MV8 ports being routed outside the CM590) if it can operate reliably. Any ideas? Anybody doing this?

WeeboTech Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 What about pairing it up with a second CM 590 and running cables from one to the other? I bought a couple CM590's thinking I was going to do that so I would have less issues with PSU's. I changed mid way to one CM Stacker with 20 re movables. However if another CM590 side by side interests you, perhaps we could make a deal for one of my spares.
