What did vista SP1 do for you?

Featured Replies

Anyone upgraded to vista SP1? If so, what were your transfer speeds before and after patching? I'm sick of seeing abysmal 4MB/s transfers when I'm on gigabit while my old XP box gets 10MB/s on a slow 100Mb/s connection.

Vista SP1 I think made my LAN transfers slower but much less prone to crashing while doing them

haaa thats a shame.... I really tried to work with vista but I think I'll go back to XP... lets just hope windows 7 will be more efficient.

Except for NLS's report, I believe that every message that I have seen relevant to SP1 has been positive to very positive.  I think his experience may be the first one that did not see better performance.  Some had dramatic improvements in transfer speed.

then I'll have to look deeper on why it happens in my case

the thing is that "my case" is not only at home, but also on my company's LAN

same thing: the traffic meter reports much lower speeds (I didn't say "less than XP" although it could be), but no big freezes and now "spikes"
