itswillder
I'm going back and forth between xfs and zfs for my new Plex NAS setup. I currently have 8x8tb WD Reds, 3x 16tb WD Ultrastar, 1x 1TB SSD, 1x 500GB SSD. I can grab another 16TB drive if needed. I would like to have the following 1 volume across all the drives Survive 1 or 2 drive failure Decently high performance for multiple 4k streams. I'm debating between ZFS and XFS. Just need some opinions why I should go for one or the other. Quote Link to comment

Solution JorgeB Posted June 18 Solution Share Posted June 18 User shares can basically do that, main limitation is that a single file cannot span multiple disks, but if you really want a single volume, use a zfs pool. Quote Link to comment
