Data move from old array to new array.

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I currently have an existing unraid config setup I migrated out of an ATX case to a JBOD (JBOD1 for reference) attached to a NUC (huge energy savings over my old 3600x/1080ti setup I was using previously). I setup a trial unraid instance and did a data copy to a new array in an additional JBOD (JBOD2 for reference). I moved the NVME from the ATX to the NUC and attached JBOD1, everything seems to be running without issue. Is it possible to mount JBOD2 to the current array to move my backups and any differential data before I nuke JBOD1 and re-configure it as a backup location for JBOD2 going forward?

Additionally, what's best practices for creating external backups of appdata? I seem to be hitting a roadblock designating an external, unassigned device as a target loation for a manual backup with the Backup/Restore Appdata tool.

Thanks for the assistance!

Noted. Is there a solution to the ask however? I had previously ran my initial unraid instance on the NUC with JBOD without issue.

Not clear to me how JBOD2 is connected but you should be able to mount it with the UD plugin.
