I have a Zimaboard so 2x SATA, and have an old but hardly use 2TB 2.5" HDD, can I run this setup?

Looking for advice on how to best set this up as I want all files on the SSD and the HDD spun down all the time until a backup/sync is run to copy new and changed files to the HDD.

 

Would these be set up as two separate single pool devices and a unraid script or app for the sync from SSD to HDD?

I believe I need to use a pool to be able to trim the SSD, not sure if better for both drives to be in same pool.  Maybe HDD should stay in array so I don't need to add a USB?

 

Thanks for any advice.
