Btrfs was already detecting data corruption before the issue, recommend running memtest first, then see here for some recovery options:

Sorry just got around to trying to fix this now. Ran the memtest and 1x16gb stick of ram was fried. Gonna run with only one stick for now and buy a second later.

 

Trying to follow the instruction you gave regarding recovery of the unmountable drive. I don't follow this line 

 

For a single device: replace X with actual device, don't forget the 1 in the end, e.g., /dev/sdf1

 

What am I replacing the X with in my situation? Sorry if it's obvious. I'm just learning this stuff now .
