neilcamilleri
Just built a brand new system, am using this pcie expansion card for the drives https://www.startech.com/en-us/cards-adapters/8p6g-pcie-sata-card which I think is the culprit. Parity sync starts throwing errors a few minutes in and then goes to read check, I eventually stop it as its just millions of errors. I've reseated all the data and power cables, the errors don't always happen on the same drives and I've done short smart tests on all of them, all pass. I'm not sure how to narrow down the problem to a specific cause and would really appreciate any help. I've attached the diagnostics. bernard-diagnostics-20240624-1910.zip Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted June 24 Solution Share Posted June 24 There have been multiple users with issues with this controller, so if possible I would recommend using a different one, but looks like it works better if you disable IOMMU (VT-d), so you can try that first. Quote Link to comment
neilcamilleri
Hey, Thanks for the near instantaneous reply. I browsed some more and decided to just buy this one https://www.amazon.com/MZHOU-Profile-Bracket-Support-Devices(ASM1166/dp/B097RBLM9G It's been running parity sync for 5 hours straight without a single error. Thanks. 1 Quote Link to comment
