I had this in another post but I wanted to just get help getting this disk back:

I had some issues adding a cache drive and I have verified that the cables and power are good but I cannot add this data drive back to the array. I did notice that it does not appear to have a mountpoint. It is listed as SDF not SDF1.

xfs repair shows:

Phase 1 - find and verify superblock...
superblock read failed, offset 0, size 524288, ag 0, rval -1

fatal error -- Input/output error

Any idea if I can get this drive back in the array without reformatting?

As mentioned in your other thread, SMART looks OK for the disk, but if replacing cables didn't help it may be failing, try a different disk with those same cables, or connect that disk to a different PC.

Different cables did not do anything. The drive can be seen in another computer but it appears that it does not have a partition. I was just hoping someone would have a clue as to how to get this back online. I rebuilt the parity drive today and the data looks good. I was planning on adding a different disk to replace the one in the pic. It is precleared and ready to go. I am also replacing the PCIE sata card as a precaution.

Thanks for your input.

If the disk is failing, as the symptoms suggest, you cannot get it back online, you can replace it with a new one.
