New Case, Motherboard, and Another HBA - Now Disk Errors (Of course!)

Hi Everyone,

After years of trouble free unraid service, I decided to replace my case, motherboard and add a second HBA to the mix, instead of using the motherboard SATA ports like I had been.

After a week or 2 of service on the new config, I'm suddenly getting disk errors.  I've attached diagnostics.  Any guidance would be appreciated.

Cracked open the case and realized I didn't connect the front intake fans, nor the fans attached to the HBA heatsinks.  I've corrected that.  I've also ordered new HBA to backplane cables from The Art of Server instead of the no name ones I got off of Amazon.

Problem occurred just after spin up, have seen this before with LSI and some Seagate disks, most notably this, though not sure the fix applies to your disk models:

If it doesn't apply or help, try disabling spin down.

Thank you.  I'll give it a shot.

I replaced the sketchy 8087 to 8643 cables with genuine ones from Art of Server.

I also realized that I was essentially running all 11 HDs off of a single PSU cable, since I had just one cable going from the PSU with each of its 3 headers plugged into the backplanes.  Now I have a dedicated cable coming from the PSU for each backplane.

Finally, I reconnected the intake fans and both of my HBAs have a small fan mounted to them.

It's been 17 days of uptime with no errors, so I'm marking this solved.
