User uploaded file to /BIN/ getting wiped

Featured Replies

Hey all!

Still relatively new to the unRAID scene but wondered if anyone can explain the following: - I have an LSI 9305 HBA card and use storcli64 to check stats of my drive and have the storcli64 app placed in the /bin/ dir on the usb stick but every time i reboot, it gets wiped. Can anyone help me understand why this happens?

Thanks,

Unraid runs from RAM and you should any storage that is not under /mnt (or /boot) is not persistent) so that location will be reset any time Unraid boots.  You may find this description of the boot process useful in understanding what is going on.

The solution is to store the files on the flash drive and then run a script during the boot process to move them to where you want and ensure they have the correct permissions.    The scripting could be done either via entries in the config/go file on the flash drive, or by using the User Scripts plugin and setting the script in question to run at array start.
