June 30, 20242 yr I’ve been running 2 Windows 10 VMs with GPU passthrough since… 2016ish. It is time to upgrade the GPUs: 1060 3GB->3050 6GB fanless 1080 8GB ->4060 Ti 8GB semi-fanless The following process worked fine: Stop each VM Edit the VM – Change the GPU from the Nvidia part to VNC. Change the SoundCard to None. Save. Reboot UNRAID Power Down UNRAID Swap out the old GPU’s for the new models Power On UNRAID Under tools/system devices/check the boxes next to the 2 new GPUs (they are NOT checked for the 1060 or 1080) Reboot UNRAID Edit the VM – add 2nd GPU with the 3050/4060 respectively. Add the Soundcard to the Nvidia part. Save. Turn on VM Using VNC, download and install the latest NVIDIA drivers Reboot each VM Edited January 15, 20251 yr by landS
