Odd reboot problem

Hello forum,

I'm having an odd problem with my latest unraid build not wanting to reboot properly (it works just fine on a clean powerdown however).  This was the third unraid box that I've built and the first time I've seen this issue.

Some details about this particular server:  it is running the free version of 4.7 installed on a Lexar Firefly.  BIOS is set to boot from flash drive (and is working on a clean powerup/powerdown).  Motherboard is the zotac mini-itx recommended in the prototype designs.  It has a 1TB parity drive (Western Digital WDEARS) and a 1TB data drive (also WDEARS).  Using SNAP, I'm attaching a Seagate GoFlex 1TB drive.  On the Seagate, I have SAB, Sickbeard, and CouchPotato installed.  Nothing out of the ordinary as I've done this with great success in the past, and it is working flawlessly on this particular build as well.  This box also has logmein hamachi installed (more on that in a second...)

I built this box for a friend to "leverage" a better internet connection than what I can currently obtain at my current location.  I have full access to the server from my house via the hamachi protocol, and everything is just peachy, until I go to reboot the server to perform whatever it is I need to do at the time.  I don't remember the exact wording that the display spit out when I did a reboot, but I do remember that the unraid splash screen did not appear upon a reboot.  Again, doing a clean powerdown and restarting the server by hand does not cause this as unraid initializes just fine and is up and running in a few minutes.

Anyone out there that is smarter than me (pretty much all of you reading this  :D) have any insight into my problem?  I would not be surprised in the least if my overconfidence in my abilities lead me to just flat out missing something.  Thanks for any insight you can offer up.

What do mean by clean power down? Is this using the powerdown add-on or the webGUI button?

How is the reboot being done?

What exactly is the message?

By clean powerdown, I mean that I take the array offline and turn off the power using the web GUI.  The reboot is done the same way: take the array offline and hit the reboot button via the web GUI.  When I do the latter, I do not get the unraid splash screen as expected upon the reboot.  I'll see if I can effort what the message is (again, this server is not at my house), but it is not an error message.

Can your have your friend go through the same process locally?  Have him power up the server, then stop the array, then press the reboot button.  If it works, then the issue might be with hamachi.  If he also sees the issue, then please post a syslog.

Looking through this, it doesn't appear that the syslog is capturing the error on trying to reboot.  I'll see if I can try to replicate the problem again...

Since the syslog is clean, I think the next plan of action will be to screenshot/photograph/etc. the process upon doing a reboot.  At this point, I'm almost convinced it's just an easy step that I overlooked.  Maybe a picture will shed some light on things...
