vt-d enable make pcie sata card ( drives ) missing.

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I just install StarTech 8P6G-PCIE-SATA-CARD 8 Port SATA PCIe Card to my unraid in pcie slot 2.

However it auto passthrough to vm when vt-d enable, But if I vt-d disable all my drive came back.
I have to make my vt-d enable because I need to use my GPU on pcie slot 1 with my vm.

In case, is there any way I can leave vt-d enable, and disable my pcie slot 2 (the sata card) to passthrough?
OR
is there any way I can disable vt-d, let my pcie slot 2 sata card stay with my unraid, and only passthrough my pcie slot 1 GPU to my vm?

When you add hardware the IDs can change.   You are probably finding that the nes card is taking over the ID of the GPU.   I woul recommend disabling the GPU pass through before adding the card and redoing it afterwards.

I tried, but still not working

if I use vt-d then the pcie card passthrough automatically, If I disable vt-d then all my hard drive linked to this pcie sata card are missing.

This is a known issue with this controller, and even with VT-d disabled some users report dropped devices issue, recommend using a different one:
