Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm using 5.b14 and wanted to create a shre only on one disk.

But what ever I have tryed, it is written into the 'normal' Arry.

Here are the Share Settings:

Share Settings

Name: Musik

Comments: Musik für Sonos

Allocation method: Fill-up

Min. free space: 0

Split level: 0

Included disk(s): Disk20

Excluded disk(s): Disk1-19

Use cache disk: No

Share empty? Yes

Delete

NFS Security Settings

Export: No

Security: Public

SMB Security Settings

Export: Yes

I am having trouble seeing from the above what the issue is.  Short of the fact that it needs to be: disk20 and not Disk20.  The same goes for disk1-19 and Disk1-19.

With the settings I mention above and the ones you listed data should only be written to disk20.

Agreed, Disk20 is not valid but disk20 is valid. I'm not sure if disk1-19 is valid but I believe it is. That could be left blank with the correct disk20.

disk1-19 is valid and you are also correct in that only the include disk area needs to be filled in.

:-\

...sorry, but I tryed it, like You both described....

I deleted the 'old' Share and made a new or better tyed it....

Wthen I use disk20 instead of Disk20, no share is created... :'(

I klick on "Add Share" and all fields are empty / cleared...

....also no error message...

If I use Disk20 the Share is created, but the include / exclude Option does not work.....

Which disk is the share created on? I suspect that Disk# is being ignored and the share is on disk1.

Delete the existing share and then try to create with the correct syntax.

You can't just delete a share storing data from the user interface. You have to first delete all the contents. While I was at it, I would also delete the top level directory from every disk.

Peter

Delete or move the contents. The share must be empty of all files including hidden files.

The share is empty and deleted.

If it was not empty, there is no 'Delete Option'.

If you still cannot create the share run check disk on the flash on a PC or Mac.

Now it is done.... :D

After I had stoped ans restarted the Array, I could create the share.

I could reproduce this with a nother share.

Share only on disk18 & 19, nothig.

Array stop, start, then I could create it....
