Server randomly freezes until a forced reboot

Featured Replies

Hello, I've been having an issue where the server suddenly becomes inaccessible be it WebUI or SSH.

All services become inaccessible as well, for example my Navidrome instance will show up as offline on my media player.

I enabled the remote syslog server and pointed it to the server's IP.

While reading it I noticed that there were multiple Tower kerner: port X entered blocking/forwaring/disabled state at 5 AM which is the time I set the Appdata Backup plugin to stop my docker containers and create a backup. I disabled that to test but it doesn't seem to have changed anything.

After pressing the shutdown button (and not the restart button) the console prints many "crond(1289) exit status 1 from user root /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/monitor &> /dev/null" lines as well as "awk: error while loading shared libraries: libreadline.so.8: cannot open shared object file: Input/Output error". The boot part seems to be fine except that I'm required to do a parity check after every forced shutdown.

I've added a video of the process as an attachment and also a diagnostics zip.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this can be a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
