July 12, 20241 yr My unraid is being troublesome. Basically, it hasn't run more than a few weeks without problems since installing unraid earlier this year. As well as the random reboots, it has a handful of times just become unresponsive (web UI and apps, shares), while also pounding my LAN to the point that nothing could connect to anything at all (disconnect LAN cable from unraid, network operates normally). It's been a very persnickety box, but life has given me plenty more to deal with so I kinda let it ride for a while... What have I tried; 1) SMART short and extended tests. Everything passes every time, and the only errors listed are CRC (cabling) from a few thousand hours of operation ago. 2) I thought maybe the cache was being unruly, so installed a separate, NVMe cache pool for scratch space/arrs usage. No improvement. 3) To shed load, I removed the arrs and left only Plex and SyncThing autostart, and manually start UrBackup container when I want to backup the wife's laptop. Since I wasn't using arrs anymore I removed the VPN connection, deleted the network config and rebooted. Also rolled back addition of the nvme pool. Unexpected reboots still happening, but only time will tell on the network flood/unresponsive front... 4) Memtest. Ran through six or seven times over a day and a half or so. No errors. EDIT: 5) I turned off Credits Detection in Plex on advice I saw somewhere. Seems to be much more stable now, with perhaps one unexpected reboot since the spate of them from initial build to July. Seems "fixed" enough for government work... siouxsie-diagnostics-20240712-1050.zip EDIT TOO: Edited October 28, 20241 yr by It's just J. New evidence ;)
