Woke up to data loss

Featured Replies

Hi, I've been using Unraid successfully for roughly 2 years but today I woke up to all my disks basically empty, most shares gone and ones that are left, their content being empty. Unfortunately I rebooted because that was the first thing I was thinking due to the share bug, so the earlier logs obviously got wiped. Hopefully the ones included have something.

I've been using BTRFS filesystem for my disks (4TB parity + 4TB+3TB array), with two Samsung SSD's as cache in RAID0 and 1 hour mover setting.

Unraid version 6.12.10

If the disks are really empty, the two most common reasons are the server being exposed to the internet and being hacked, some media related container doing a clean up.

I had a File Browser docker exposed for my friend to download things, it was password protected though and his account only had access to one folder but I guess theoretically it still could be possible. And yeah, I used ncdu to check as well and indeed there is nothing except some of the old Docker container configs in appdata and couple of the old share folders exist but they have no content in them, the rest are completely gone.

Jellyfin had its own Docker contrainer only pointed at specific folders as well and was not exposed to internet.
